0630 hrs.: Early morning drive to Shimla
0830 Hrs.: For an early breakfast, may stop at Murthal where the
famous Ahuja Dhaba serves excellent Parathas.
1200 hrs.: Arrive timber trail, suggested place for Lunch and enjoy
Cable Car ride.
1330 hrs.: After Lunch drive to Shimla
On the way to Shimla lies Solan - A developing Hill Town. The Land was
first acquired by the British for a rifle range but its chief claim to Fame
today is the Mohan Meakin Brewery, founded in 1935.
1630 hrs.: Arrive Shimla upon arrival transfer to hotel.
1800 hrs.: Visit to the Mall, Lakkar Bazaar & Ridge area (One
could drive upto the lift area. Vehicles are prohibited on the Mall).
2000 hrs.: Return to hotel for dinner

lot to offer within itself-
Heritage Walk:
The Centre of Town- The Mall area runs from the Scandal Point to the Christ
Church. A Heritage Walk is suggested around town, covering Scandal Point,
Gaiety Theatre, Rodney Castle, Kali Bari & Viceregal Lodge &
Botanical Gardens : The Viceregal Lodge was formerly the residence of the
British Viceroy Lord Dufferin. The Lodge has magnificent lawns, Botanical
gardens and a small cafe and also houses. The Institute of Advanced Studies.
Another interesting walk beyond the Mall would be to The Summer Hill &
The Glenn Forest via Annadale, which was the site of a famous racecourse -
cricket & Polo are still played here- A special picnic Basket could be
carried from the hotel.The Summer Hill has pleasant shady walks - Also
famous because Mahatma Gandhi once stayed here at the Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur
Mansion.
Himachal State Museum & Library: About 3 km. from Scandal Point, the
museum, houses a good collection of statues, miniatures, coins, photos &
other items from around Himachal Pradesh. Entry is free and the museum is
open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Opt for a special Bon-fire Dinner at the lawns at the hotel Springfields.
In Shimla

- Excursion to Kufri & Chail
KUFRI: Kufri is 18 Kms and is a small village close to Shimla,
offering good hiking in the countryside. Horse-ride and Yak-rides are
popular during the Summer months. Kufri is promoted for Skiing in the winter
months of December to February.
CHAIL: Chail is 35 Kms. from Kufri and was created by the Maharaja
of Patiala, a Summer Capital after his expulsion from Shimla. The town is
built on three hills-One is topped by the Chail Palace, one by the Village
itself & the third by the Snowview Mansion.
Three Kilometers from the Palace is the World's highest Cricket Ground
(2444m), built in 1893. There is also a wildlife sanctury, 3 km. From Chail,
but it offers only a few birds & Deer, although it is a good place for
hiking.
- Lunch at Chail Palace is suggested, before proceeding back to Shimla.
Dinner at Springfields with music in the lounge bar area.

- A visit to Shimla is incomplete, without a game of Golf at the Highest &
one of the oldest Golf Courses in India. 15 Km North of Shimla, at an
altitude of 2050m, Naldhera is a pleasant little Village. Gree Fees are
approx. Rs. 500 for 18-holes (twice around the course). Caddies are readily
avialable & a Golf Kit is available at the Hotel on request.
There is a temple in the middle of the Course - Mahunag Mandir
- A Packed Lunch Basket from the hotel is suggested
On return vist Mashobra which is 4 kms. From Naldera enroute to Shimla.
Mashobra has some pleasant walks with breath taking views and a wooden
temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
